National and international mobility
One of the University of Barcelona’s commitments to the HUBc as a campus of international excellence is the mobility and exchange policy it extends to the student community.
The University of Barcelona enjoys a history of long-standing collaborative relationships with universities all over the world. The wide variety of present and future possibilities to study at other universities, allowing students to take advantage of unforgettable academic and life experiences, pays tribute to that tradition.
These opportunities are available thanks to agreements that the University of Barcelona has signed with over 400 universities in over 40 countries all over the world, giving students the chance to learn more than 15 different languages. The ERASMUS scholarship program is designed to support temporary study periods in universities with agreements with the University of Barcelona. The International Program and Mobility Office offers all the information related to these study periods in a single location, but also provides information for students who want to complete the practical portion of their studies abroad or are interested in other types of international exchanges.
The University of Barcelona also has an agreement with universities all over Spain to foster mobility and promote the development of exchange programs. As a result of this agreement, promoted by the Conference of Rectors of Spanish Universities, an exchange system was created among Spanish universities (SICUE), which allows students to participate in three- to nine-month study periods at other universities, with the full guarantee of academic recognition. Sèneca grants are designed to offer financial support to students interested in taking part in this mobility program.
